5- Follow these 2 advice to secure the dream job
#1 — Craft the RIGHT story to convince the employer:
Job interviews are not really about you. They are about the employer’s needs and how you can fulfill them.
Adjust your story to make it relevant to the job. And skip the steps that aren’t directly pertinent. I’m not recommending lying. Just filter out what’s not relevant. Founders and recruiters also have limited attention span.
Double down on the magic keywords (on your LinkedIn, Resume, Emails, Interviews). Which keywords? The keywords they use in the job description, on their LinkedIn, or webpage.
#2 — Employers are looking for candidates who are aligned with their mission. To demonstrate your commitment to this area, take on a project that showcases your mission alignment:
a creative YouTube video
a Medium blog post
a spiky LinkedIn post
a competitive analysis of all companies in their vertical
a list of all investors in the space
How do you just create something out of thin air?
For creative projects, follow tutorials on YouTube or Medium
Imitate inspiring figures on LinkedIn and create something similar that you care about
Participate in a Climate hackathon
If you’re an engineer, use publicly available data, tap into open APIs and build a small project (like the one below, showing how long it takes to travel by train from any major European city)
If you’re in Biz Dev, suggest 5 customers and a strategy to close them
Conclusion:
These 5 empowering steps will equip you with the tools and knowledge to thrive in Climateland.
First, join the best communities and listen to top podcasts. Second, apply to top job portals and apply my two pieces of advice to secure your dream job.
Along the way, don't be afraid to show your personality and creativity in a way that sets you apart from others. Employers will immediately take notice and prioritize your application.
Go and take charge of your destiny, because we need you!
