My most popular posts are always about the best events to attend in Climate Tech.
People love them, and I get it.
The right events can change everything: who you meet, what you learn, and where your next opportunity comes from.
But over the years, I’ve become more selective.
Partly because I want to protect my time.
Partly because long flights destroy me.
And mostly because most large events are just exhausting. Too much noise, too little depth, and seven-hour days of non-stop small talk.
There’s one event that I’ll always make time for, though.
👉 The SOSV Climate Tech Summit (November 3–7, 2025).
Why?
It’s free. It’s virtual. And it consistently brings together the sharpest minds in climate and deeptech.
Why this one stands out
1. It’s high signal, low noise.
No travel. No wasted time.
Just real conversations with founders, investors, and operators who actually matter to your work.
2. It connects the US and EU ecosystems.
Most events are either one or the other.
NY Climate Week is heavily US. HelloTomorrow or The Drop are heavily European.
The SOSV Summit bridges both worlds and lets you meet people across continents without leaving your desk.
3. It’s not just talks, it’s access.
Their ‘Matchup platform’ is surprisingly good.
It helps you connect directly with the right founders, investors, and partners.

My Pro Tips
If you’re a founder, take initiative. Don’t wait for people to find you.
Reach out with a clear intro, who you are, what you’re building, and why a short chat makes sense.
Remember, the event opens the door, but the real work happens in the follow-up.
If you’re an investor, keep things honest.
If you don’t have deployable capital right now, sit this one out.
And if a founder reaches out and it’s not a fit, just reply ‘not a fit’. They’ll appreciate the clarity.
And please, be a real investor, with actual capital to deploy: not a broker, not an agent, not a “pay to pitch” or service provider. That frustrates most founders.
For everyone else: don’t try to watch everything.
Pick the two or three panels that truly interest you, and go deep. You’ll learn far more that way. And really try to make time for serendipitous connections. It’s a conference after all. The magic happens in the unknown ✨
Why I keep recommending it
Every year, this event gives me something useful. Whether it’s insight, inspiration, or a new connection that ends up mattering later.
It’s one of the few that still feels efficient and genuinely valuable.
You’ll hear from leading founders, investors, and technologists shaping what’s next in climate tech. And you can do it all without stepping on a plane.

See you online in November.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While in previous years SOSV held the VC / Startup matchmaking concurrently with the Summit, this year they held it in advance of Climate Week in September.
Check out their notice on the Summit website: https://sosvclimatetech.com/matchup/
That said, opportunities still exist to connect during the live breakout sessions hosted by VCs:
